Sometimes one night just isn't enough... That's why the band will be in Louisville on June 27th and 28th for a two night stand at the beautiful and historic Phoenix Hill Tavern! If you haven't experienced the Hill, it's a "must see" in Louisville. It's a huge, historic building with three stages of live music, and a massive two story deck. Come out and get down with the band!

Join The Elect at the annual Brew Ha Ha this Saturday, June 21st in downtown Indy! This is a fund raiser for the Phoenix Theatre, a local independent arts theater. So, the first thing you’re probably thinking right now is “who?” I know it’s been a long time… A real long time. It’s the longest amount of time we’ve ever taken off, so it was definitely strange for us too! But, we had a plan and a goal. Did we stick to it? Of course not! No way. Not even close. So, we failed miserably…

The original goal was to take the time off to write and record a new studio CD. So, how did we fail that simple goal? By writing and recording two new CDs! That’s right, two new CDs! Two distinctly different discs by the same band.

The first is “In Your Heart, There’s a Light”. This album is a true ensemble affair, reflecting all of the best of the band’s diverse influences. Rock and soul come together to form nine tracks of solid grooves. This one was recorded in Chicago at the I.V. Lab studio and produced by Manny Sanchez (Zwan, Umphrey’s McGee, Smashing Pumpkins, Buddy Guy, Rod Stewart.) This is the first time the band has ever worked with a known producer and the results are simply stellar: the songs are strong, the production polished, and the overall vibe is simply stunning. It’s easily the best the disc in the band’s history!

The second is “Stitches Stronger than Steel”. This one is Michael Weir in his purest form, exploring his folk roots. Michael is a modern folk artist at heart, and this disc showcases those talents. The sound moves away from The Elect’s blues and rock tendencies and plants them squarely into the realm of folk. The album is lyrically superb, swims in atmosphere and shows a side of the band that is normally only hinted at.

One band, two discs, two distinct directions… Yeah, we’ve been busy! And that leads me to this:

Join The Elect at The Rathskeller on Saturday, May 31st for their double CD release party!!!

This show will be outdoors, in the beautiful and historic biergarten and starts early! This show runs from 7pm to 11pm with no cover charge! Both discs will be available as well as our previous recordings and DVD. This is going to be a special night, so come one and come all!
